The 1970s
It’s all aboard for the first out-of-town trip of the U.P. Cherubim to Baguio City in May of 1974! We lived in Teacher’s Camp and sang for a Parade at the Philippine Military Academy.

1970s Tours
1979 Vienna Tour - We returned from Germany and Austria in 1979 with a special trophy from the "Musikalischer Sommer in Wien" ("Musical Summer in Vienna"), a World Youth Festival for Music and the Performing Arts in Vienna. We sang J.S. Bach’s “Wir Eilen mit Schwachen doch Emsigen Schritten, Lucio San Pedro’s “Magsiawit sa Panginoon,” Felipe Padilla de Leon’s “Payapang Daigdig,” and, Ramon Santos’ “Aleluya” for the finals. The judges wanted to acknowledge our performance even if we had been technically disqualified because we did not perform the contest piece, Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy,” which was in SATB.
